I picked these up in the store. I love them, and I'm probably going to purchase several more sets.
The bottom of the sock (the sole of the foot) is your standard cushy sock fabric. The top of the sock (the top of the foot) is a much looser almost mesh-like weave. You can see the tops of your toes (the "toe cleavage" as some people call it) through the mesh.
I think it looks a little weird, but they breathe nicely, and will be perfect for summer and for exercise.
A note on sizing: I think my exact shoe size is 12.5. I wear some shoes in size 13, and some in size 12. I sometimes need wide, but not always.
These socks are rated for up to size 13, and they fit me well.
